"I was born in Accra, Ghana. When I was around 2-3 years old my family travelled and settled in London, UK and I’ve been here ever since. I grew up in Northwest London."
"I have three children, two teenage sons and a young daughter. My parents are from Akwa Ibom State, in Southern Nigeria"
Area of expertise
"Right now, I’m focusing on womb health and awareness and doing some workshops."
Staying ahead of the rest
"Being a doula has taught me to really focus on my health. Because if I am not focusing on my health then I can't give this service to women."
The lowest of the low
"My physical changes. Pregnancy was a bit of a challenge because one of the services I provide is mobile, it was a bit of a challenge for me to be seen as a pregnant woman going to massage pregnant females. Like, ‘how is that going to work’."
"Sometimes, you just have to let go and trust that everything will fall into place. And, what I've learnt as an entrepreneur is; you just have to trust the process."
Light bulb moment
"It was about 3 weeks after my son was born. A friend of mine hosts a local radio show and he had a guest who was a doula. When I heard about what she did I was like, this is it, this is what I want to do. I called him, I said, can I get to speak to her? What is her name?"
"I called her and I found the organization; Doula UK and I attended workshops."
What’s got you buzzing right now?
"I just announced a date in October for my womb wellness workshop and I’m looking forward to a collaboration of women sharing, learning and understanding and just loving their womb space. It’s on October the 14th.
It’s going to be an all-day event. We are going to be talking about menstrual health and awareness as well."
What is the best African Saying you've ever heard?
‘If you don’t know where you’re coming from, you don’t know where you’re going’
What was holding you back from building your brand?
"Sometimes doubt. Allowing other people’s thoughts to doubt where your vision is. People who generally are not on your level, because you’ve grown, may hold you back because they don’t understand where you’re going."
Which is your social media platform of choice and why?
"I am liking the Instagram posts and realising that I can explore more of my creativity on there."
Share one daily routine that contributes to your success.
"I have a few daily routines. The main one I do is womb meditation. I also like to read in the morning as well and I like to journal."
Book you can recommend for the Tribe to read?
"Placenta: The Forgotten Chakra - It talks about the power of the placenta."
If you had 24 hours to live, what would you do?
"I will venture out to see the wonders of the world and do as much amazing and crazy things as I can, things like Bungee jumping."
Words of wisdom
"Enjoy the smaller, finer details of your life and just be grateful."
